About the role
You decide what the security team works on and justify those decisions to the leadership that funds them. The team is small, so the role remains hands-on: you are expected to participate in technical reviews and to know the systems well enough to judge whether an estimate is realistic. Responsibilities include hiring, developing the people already on the team, and reporting on risk to non-technical stakeholders.

- Set priorities and say no to the rest, out loud
- Grow the people on the team, not just the backlog
- Stay technical enough to be useful in a review
